Color, intense or suggestive and subdued, is very powerful and when freely applied yields insight into how incredible, yet simple and pure our world is created.

I am captivated by the creative possibilities that the medium of paint offers.  Originally, my core interest in painting was the human form, and I am still intrigued by painting portraits.   Interest in the intricacy and magnificence of the human form led me into the sciences for my early career. 

However, my passion for creating, led me back to often intense university training in painting.    Through that studio as well as art history study experience, I discovered how unique characteristics of various paint media and color allow for deep expression and project the God inspired beauty of everyday subject matter and thoughts. 

I seek to develop interesting realistic and abstract pieces that evoke energy or emotion by the way paint is placed on paper or canvas. I find bold manipulation of color contributes to movement and essence within my work.
